Bahan-bahan untuk pembuatan siku pipa meliputi besi cor, baja tahan karat, baja paduan, besi cor lunak, baja karbon, logam non-ferrous, dan plastik.
Metode penyambungan dengan pipa meliputi pengelasan langsung, sambungan flensa, sambungan leleh panas, sambungan leleh listrik, sambungan berulir, dan sambungan soket. Pengelasan langsung adalah metode pengelasan yang paling umum digunakan.
Berdasarkan proses produksinya, dapat dibagi menjadi: siku las, siku cetak, siku dorong, siku cor, siku las sambung, dll. Nama lain: siku 90 derajat, siku sudut kanan, dll.
